Community Wellness Exercise Program begins October 15th in Springfield
A new Community Wellness Exercise Program for people with Parkinson's disease is beginning soon at the Jewish Community Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Wellness Programs are designed to help individuals with PD who are living in the community learn to manage their health more effectively in order to improve day-to-day functioning and quality of life.
Under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist, participants will learn:
- an exercise program specifically designed to meet the needs of persons with Parkinson's
- problem-solving approaches that can help improve management of challenges related to daily mobility, self-care, and communication
- strategies to help manage overall health more effectively
Place: Jewish Community Center, 1160 Dickinson Street, Springfield, MA 01108
Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, October 15 through November 28th. No classes will be held the week of Thanksgiving (November 19th and 21st.
Time: 12:30 to 2:00pm
Cost: $249. JCC members receive a discounted price of $239. Limited scholarships are available.
