Board Member - Volodymyr Lyczmanenko
Why do you volunteer for APDA Massachusetts?
I volunteer with the APDA because I am committed to helping finding a cure, as well as using my knowledge and contacts to assist others who are impacted by PD.
When did you first join the Board, and what is your role on it?
I joined eleven years ago when the then-President, Fay Rhodes, asked me to help rebuild the website (my background is in technology). I joined the Board as well, and have stayed on the Board ever since. I am currently the Chapter President.
In my student days I worked as a radio producer and presenter on BBC Radio, putting out programs for the large student population in my college town.
What do you want to see the APDA MA Chapter accomplish over the next year?
I would like to see our services be available across all of the state, a stronger Board and volunteer base, more fundraising - it takes a lot of money to deliver the services we do, and finally develop an “incremental” advocacy program.
