Board Member - Volodymyr Lyczmanenko

Position: Past President

Why do you volunteer for APDA Massachusetts?

I volunteer with the APDA because I am committed to helping finding a cure, as well as using my knowledge and contacts to assist others who are impacted by PD.

When did you first join the Board, and what is your role on it?

I joined the Board over eleven years ago when the then-President, Fay Rhodes, asked me to help rebuild the website (my background is in technology). I joined the Board as well, and have stayed on the Board ever since. I served two terms as Chapter President from 2007 to 2013.   I remain on the Board as immediate Past President.

What do you want to see the APDA MA Chapter accomplish over the next year?

The Chapter's fundraisinng and program delivery has grown year after year, but we stlil need to raise a lot more money to fund research and operations.  Plus, public awareness of APDA's role continues to be low, despte the fact that the APDA either financially underwrites or outright organixes many events.   The profile of APDA needs to be raised.
