Why do you volunteer for APDA Massachusetts? I have been working with people with Parkinson's disease since I graduated college, first as a research assistant then as a nurse practitioner. For the past fifteen years, I have seen the challenges that people with PD face and want to support an organization that aims to "ease the burden and find a cure." When did you first join the Board, and what is your role on it? I first started working with the APDA MA Chapter and the Information & Referral Center in 1996, when I was a research assistant at Boston University. I then moved out of state for graduate school and returned to the board in 2006 as a committee member. I was elected Secretary the following year. Fun Facts I love horror movies. What do you want to see the APDA MA Chapter accomplish over the next year? I would like to see the Chapter increase awareness in the community about the APDA and get more people involved. |
