Board Member - Bill Jenczyk
Position: Member at Large
Why do you volunteer for APDA Massachusetts?
I was diagnosed with PD in March of 2012 and my mother was diagnosed in 2005. When confronted with having PD, I didn't want to just accept the diagnosis without turning it into an avenue to do some good. I attended some support group meetings and decided I would contribute my time and talents to the APDA so that I could help people who were in my and my mother's position or those who are even worse off.
When did you first join the Board, and what is your role on it?
I joined in 2012 and serve as a Member at Large
I am an avid hiker, and am working on climbing the forty-eight 4,000 foot peaks in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I appreciate each hike even more now than before, since I don't know how much longer I'll be able to hike. I also serve as an elder at the church of Christ in Leominster, MA and have been treasurer of Gander Brook Christian Camp in Raymond, ME for over twenty years.
What do you want to see the APDA MA Chapter accomplish over the next year?
I would like to see the APDA MA work to educate those without PD about the skills and abilities of those who are afflicted, and to further its mission of helping those with PD to get the most out of life.
