Why do you volunteer for the APDA MA Chapter? I have worked with the Parkinson's community off and on for over ten years have enjoyed being able to give back to the community by volunteering my time and expertise. When did you first join the Board? I first joined in 2002 as Treasurer when I began working at Boston University. I then stepped down from this position when I moved out of the country in 2005. I am happy to now be rejoining as an Advisor to the Board. Fun Facts I took four months off and did an around the world trip with my husband in 2007. One of the stops on our trip was a seventeen-day hike up and around Everest Base Camp. What do you want to see the APDA MA Chapter accomplish over the next year? I hope that we continue to offer programs that help meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of the Parkinson's community and their families. I have seen first hand the positive response to many of the programs the Chapter has sponsored and offered including the Caregivers Conference, Spirited Movement, and Community Wellness Programs. I would like this to continue because it brings the community together and enables people to support one another in coping with the disease. |
