Marblehead, MA: Parkinsons Fitness

Parkinsons Fitness is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a better quality of life for people with Parkinson's through fitness. Our staff includes a personal trainer, group fitness experts, a yoga instructor, and a PD support group leader who volunteers in the role of a safety "spotter" ... all of whom are committed to assisting those with PD through exercise. We hold classes on most Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Marblehead Community Center (10 Humphrey Street, Marblehead, MA 01945). Please see our website for details on class dates and times.

What kind of a program is this and how can it help you?
Parkinsons Fitness provides exercise classes created specifically to assist people with Parkinson's with their everyday activities. Each class begins with group exercises devised to help improve mobility, stability, strength, endurance, cognition and flexibility. The second class component involves our moving into separate groups and participating in team exercises and activities (i.e., boxing, obstacle courses, etc.) that are adjusted to each individual's level of fitness and ability. The last segment of the class involves our singing together to improve voice function. We encourage one another physically and emotionally...and we share a healthy amount of fun together, too!
