Janet presents a number of her affirmations to uplift others caring for a loved one as well as those they are caring for. In the process, she reveals insights into how to make meaning out of this difficult life experience. Her presentation also includes practical information on how to work with doctors, professional caregivers, and other family members.
The caregiving affirmations she’ll address using poignant stories include the following:
- Hold on to your passions because they are the essence of who you are
- Look for the gifts that only this type of tragedy can afford
- When you respect each other’s differences, you can overcome conflicts
- Explore life’s adventures together to store up fond memories that will sustain you
- Work together to make meaning out of the tragedy of disease
