Massachusetts has a comprehensive system of agencies committed to addressing the needs of elders and their families. Consider contacting one of these agencies to see what is available for you. Statewide Information Helpline for Elders
Home Care and Caregiver Support: Support services such as personal care, transportation, and day care are provided to elders in need of services to be able to remain in the community. Respite services are provided to caregivers supporting elders in a community setting. This helpline will also provide information on local services for you. This statewide office provides information and support to elders and their family members on a wide range of services including home care, caregiver support, nutrition, health insurance counseling to name a few.

There are 27 Aging Service Access Points (ASAP) throughout Massachusetts. These non-profit agencies provide regional information and support services to elders. Twenty of these ASAP’s also serve as Area Agencies on Aging.
Councils on Aging
Every city and town in Massachusetts has a Council on Aging. COA’s provide many services including, but not limited to, transportation, socialization, and companionship. For more information contact the COA in your town.
